Ahead of the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), a practice match between the Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators has been cancelled. The media manager of the Karachi Kings confirmed the cancellation but did not disclose the reason behind the decision. The match was scheduled to take place at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.

Preparations Ahead of the PSL 8

The cancelled practice match was meant to be a test for both teams to refine their combination ahead of the tournament. Other teams participating in PSL 8 are currently practicing in Karachi, excluding Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars who will play the opening match of the tournament in Multan.

Opening and Closing Ceremonies of PSL 8

The opening ceremony of the eighth season of PSL will be held in Multan on February 13th, preceding the opening match between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars. Meanwhile, the closing ceremony and final of the tournament will be held on March 19th in Lahore, which will also host the play-offs.

Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United Goals

Lahore Qalandars aim to become the first team to win back-to-back titles, while Islamabad United aim to be the most successful side by lifting the trophy for the third time. The tournament will have matches in different cities, with Rawalpindi hosting 11 fixtures, Karachi and Lahore each hosting nine matches, and Multan hosting five home games.
