In a recent media talk, PCB Chief Selector Wahab Riaz shed light on the current status of promising young fast bowler Naseem Shah, who recently made a trade from Quetta Gladiators to Islamabad United in the PSL 2024. The transfer sparked concerns about Naseem’s participation in the upcoming season due to ongoing rehabilitation. However, Riaz has provided reassurance, confirming that Naseem Shah will be fully fit before PSL 2024.

Riaz stated, “Naseem Shah will be completely fit till PSL. I have met with Naseem, and his rehabilitation program is going very well.” The positive update comes as a relief for fans eager to witness Naseem Shah’s explosive bowling in the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League.

According to a press release by the PCB, Naseem Shah has officially entered the final stage of his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore. The young pacer had sustained an injury during the Asia Cup in September, leading to surgery in the United Kingdom. Following the procedure, Naseem spent two months in the UK for rehabilitation and initial training, with the PCB covering his medical costs and providing continuous care from a team of expert medical staff.

Naseem Shah’s ongoing rehabilitation at NCA, Lahore, is being meticulously supervised by a team consisting of a strength and conditioning coach, a physiotherapist, and a doctor. Currently, he is engaged in light gym exercises and partial bowling practice, with plans to commence batting practice in the coming days.

The PCB’s commitment to Naseem Shah’s recovery is evident, as the young bowler receives comprehensive support to regain full fitness. The final stage of rehabilitation at NCA signifies a crucial step towards Naseem’s return to competitive cricket.
