Pakistan’s emerging cricket star, Saim Ayub, has embarked on an intensive rehabilitation program at Arsenal FC’s Sobha Realty Training Center in London ahead of the PSL 10. The 22-year-old left-handed batter, sidelined by a serious ankle injury, is undergoing specialized treatment in a state-of-the-art environment known for conditioning elite athletes.
Ayub sustained the injury on the opening day of the second Test against South Africa in January, an untimely setback that ruled him out of competitive cricket for at least six weeks. His absence was keenly felt during Pakistan’s dismal ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign, where the team struggled without a dependable opener.
PCB optimistic for Saim Ayub’s recovery ahead of PSL 10
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has placed immense faith in Ayub’s rehabilitation, sending him to London for world-class medical care and training expertise. The decision underscores the board’s commitment to ensuring his swift and complete recovery, especially with key tournaments on the horizon. PCB officials remain hopeful that Ayub will be fully fit in time for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, where he is expected to don the Peshawar Zalmi jersey once again.
Ayub’s injury has already cost him participation in Pakistan’s white-ball tour of New Zealand, which includes five T20Is and three ODIs from March 16 to April 5. With the national team struggling to find a consistent opening pair, his absence has been a significant blow.
With PSL 10 around the corner, all eyes are on Ayub’s rehabilitation process. His return will not only strengthen his franchise but could also be pivotal for Pakistan’s plans leading up to future international assignments. For now, his focus remains on regaining peak fitness and making a triumphant comeback.
