Women’s T20I Inter Insular Series 2023: Jersey retain the series after Day 1

The Women’s T20I Inter Insular Series 2023 had its first day today consisting of two matches between the participating teams Jersey Women and Guernsey Women. Jersey Women have won both the matches of today and retain the trophy of the 3-match bilateral T20I series.

In the first match, Jersey Women made 141 runs for the loss of six wickets in the first inning and posted a target of 142 runs to Guernsey Women in the match. Chloe Greechan and Mia Maguire made the most 26 runs each for Japan Women in the match in 32 and 35 runs respectively. E. Merrien took the most three wickets for Guernsey Women in the match.

Guernsey Women made 78 runs for the loss of ten wickets in the second inning of the match.

Jersey Women won the first match by 63 runs.

In the second match, Guernsey Women made 84 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the first inning of the match. R. Davis made the most 22 runs in 46 deliveries for the team in the match. Grace Wetherall took the most of two wickets for Japan Women in this match.

Jersey Women made 85 runs for the loss of two wickets in 12 overs in the second inning of the match. Lily Greig made the most 26* runs in 39 deliveries for the team in the match. E. Merrien and F. Bulpitt took a wicket each for Guernsey Women in the match.

Jersey Women won the match by eight wickets.

Jersey Women lead the series 2-0.
