Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) triumphed in a thrilling Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 final, defeating Delhi Capitals Women (DC-W) by 8 runs at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The victory marked MI-W’s second WPL title, showcasing their dominance in the premier women’s T20 league.
Harmanpreet Kaur Leads Mumbai Indians Women to a Competitive Total in WPL 2025 Final
After losing the toss and being put to bat first, MI-W posted a competitive total of 149/7 in their 20 overs. Despite their efforts, MI-W’s disciplined bowling attack, spearheaded by Nat Sciver-Brunt (3/30), kept DC-W under pressure. Amelia Kerr (2/25) and Shabnim Ismail (1/15) played crucial roles in restricting the Capitals’ batters. With 10 runs needed off the final over, DC-W fell short, finishing at 141/9, as MI-W held their nerve in the closing moments.
