Pak vs Ban: Pakistan bagged an 8-wicket win over Bangladesh

Pakistan scored 109-0 in their second innings on the fourth day in Chittagong. Pakistan was chasing a target of 202 in their first Test against Bangladesh on Monday. Abid Ali scored 56 runs while Abdullah Shafique scored 53 runs. Both the openers completed their fifty and came within 93 runs of victory. They earlier bowled out the hosts for just 157 runs. Abid lost his wicket six overs later as Taijul Islam get him out leg-before. Azhar Ali’s 24 (not out) and Babar Azam 13 (not out) guided Pakistan to the finish line.

Ali scored a century of 133 runs on Day 1 and then followed it up with a half-century of 91 runs on Day 4. With these scores he was declared Player of the Match for the Chittagong Test. Earlier, Fast bowler Shaheen Afridi finished the innings with 5/32  to help Pakistan bowl out Bangladesh for 157 runs in their second innings. And became the leading wicket-taker in Test matches this year on Sunday.

Bangladesh has failed to defeat Pakistan in any of their 10 previous encounters.

Pakistan won the first test match against Bangladesh by 8 wickets.
