India wins the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup

The final of the  ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup is happening at Potchefstroom where India Women and England Women are playing for the title of the inaugural edition of the league.

Winning the toss, India U19 Women elected to field first where they restrict England to 68 runs in 17.1 overs.

Ryan MacDonald-Gay was the top run scorer for England U19 Women with 19 runs off 24 balls followed by Sophia Smale with 11 runs off 7 balls.

For India U19 Women’s success in restricting England U19 Women below 70 runs, Titas Sadhu, Archana Devi and Parshavi Chopra took two wickets each for the team. Mannat Kashyap, Shafali Verma and Sonam Yadav took a wicket each for the team in the game to join the wicket-taking party.

Soumya Tiwari and Gongadi Trisha were the top run contributor for India U19 Women in the game with 24 runs each. Soumya played a not-out 24(37) inning while Gongadi Trisha was out at 24(29) just before India U19 Women needed one more run to win the tournament title.

Hannah Baker and Grace Scrivens and Alexa Stonehouse took a wicket each for England U19 Women.

India U19 Women became the CHAMPIONS of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup.
