Mustafizur Rahman Joins Melbourne Renegades for BBL 2026–27, The Fizz Bay Launched

Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has signed with Melbourne Renegades for the Big Bash League (BBL) 2026–27 season, marking his first appearance in Australia’s premier T20 competition.

The left-arm pacer, popularly known as The Fizz, joins the Renegades after taking more than 400 wickets in T20 cricket worldwide.

Mustafizur Replaces Injured Jason Behrendorff

Melbourne Renegades have strengthened their bowling attack following the season-ending shoulder injury to Australian fast bowler Jason Behrendorff.

Mustafizur brings extensive international and franchise cricket experience, particularly with his variations and effectiveness during the powerplay and death overs.

Renegades head coach Luke Ronchi welcomed the signing, describing the Bangladesh international as a proven match-winner capable of changing games with the ball.

Mustafizur will miss the Renegades’ opening fixture in Chennai due to his ILT20 commitments before joining the squad in Melbourne.

Melbourne Renegades Launch The Fizz Bay

To celebrate Mustafizur’s arrival, the Renegades have introduced The Fizz Bay, a dedicated fan initiative for Melbourne’s Bangladeshi cricket community.

The special seating experience will be available at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) for two BBL|16 fixtures:

• January 1, 2027: Melbourne Renegades vs Sydney Sixers
• January 16, 2027: Melbourne Renegades vs Melbourne Stars
