India leveled the three-match T20I series with a thrilling victory in the second game against New Zealand in Lucknow. Suryakumar Yadav, who delivered a match-winning performance in the chase, joined forces with spin bowlers Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav for a hilarious post-match interview.

The win was built on the backs of India’s bowlers, particularly the spinners, who kept New Zealand’s score to a meager 99 in the first innings of the second T20I. Yuzvendra Chahal, who was brought in to replace Umran Malik, got the first breakthrough for India by dismissing Finn Allen cheaply.

With this wicket, Chahal surpassed Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s tally of 90 wickets to become India’s leading wicket-taker in the T20I format. Kuldeep Yadav, who also impressed with his cunning bowling on a difficult surface, interviewed Chahal after his milestone wicket.

“It feels good to perform for the Indian team. I never thought about being the leading wicket-taker when I made my debut in the format. It feels really good,” Chahal said in an interview conducted by Kuldeep for BCCI.

Chahal then asked Suryakumar about his innings, as the batter played an uncharacteristically slow knock on a challenging surface in Lucknow. The Indian batsman replied with sarcasm, giving credit to Chahal for his batting performance.

“Actually, I tried what you (Chahal) taught me in the last series. I would like to learn more batting tips from you to improve my batting. Please don’t take it as a joke (talking to the fans), he is my batting coach, he teaches me everything,” Suryakumar said.

Chahal then teased local boy Kuldeep into getting Kebabs for the duo, as they were in his hometown. The Indian team will face New Zealand in the deciding third T20I of the series on February 1 in Ahmedabad. This match will be the last international game before the highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
