Women’s Premier League 2023 Player Auction list announced by BCCI

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced the Women’s Premier League 2023 Player Auction list today. As per the BCCI, a total of 1525 players have registered themselves for the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL) Auction and the final list was pruned to 409 players. Cricketers from the final list are set to go under the hammer at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on 13 February 2023.

Out of the total of 409 players pruned from the list of 1525 players, 246 are Indians. 163 overseas players are on the list of 409 players which includes 8 players from the associate nations. The final list includes 202 capped players, 199 uncapped players and 8 players from associate nations.

The auction will happen on 13 February 2023 in Mumbai with a maximum of 90 slots available for the five teams, provided 30 being slotted for the overseas players.

As per the BCCI, INR 50 Lakhs is the highest reserve price which has been chosen by 24 players. Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma and Shafali Verma are some of the players with the highest reserve price, as per the BCCI.

BCCI mentioned that 13 overseas players have also slotted themselves under the INR 50 Lakh reserve price with the likes of Ellyse Perry, Sophie Ecclestone, Sophie Devine and Deandra Dottin to name a few.

30 players are on the auction list with a base price of INR 40 Lakh.

DOCUMENT OF THE COMPLETE LIST OF WOMEN”S PREMIER LEAGUE PLAYER AUCTION

The auction on 13 February will start at 14.30 IST for the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) to be played from 4-26 March 2023. The league will consists of 22 matches in total with the Brabourne Stadium & D.Y. Patil Stadium playing hosts to the marquee tournament.
