Sam Billings, the wicketkeeper-batsman for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), has expressed his desire to win the tournament. Speaking exclusively to Geo News in Islamabad, the 31-year-old English cricketer also praised the leadership skills of Shaheen Shah Afridi, the team’s captain.
Billings has previously played for Islamabad United in PSL 1 and PSL 2, but this time he is playing for Lahore Qalandars and is in Pakistan for the first time. He spoke positively about his experience of playing in Pakistan, saying that he is enjoying the good quality grounds and wickets, as well as the enthusiastic crowds.
Billings also commented on the unique characteristics of different franchise-based leagues, such as the high pace of bowling in PSL, which he finds enjoyable. When asked about personal goals for PSL 2023, Billings said that he only aims to win the tournament with Lahore Qalandars and that the most important thing for him is to contribute his best to the team’s success.
“To win the PSL with Lahore Qalandars,” he responded when asked about his goals in PSL 2023.
“I don’t really set too many personal goals. As long as the team is winning, and I’m giving my everything to the team. That’s the most important thing,” he concluded.
Precisely, Billings seems focused on achieving success for his team and has a positive outlook on his experience playing in PSL and being in Pakistan.
