Legendary cricketer Virat Kohli recently motivated his female teammates from the Royal Challengers Bangalore team ahead of their match against the UP Warriorz. Kohli, who has been an integral part of the RCB franchise for 15 years, has seen many ups and downs with the Bangalore-based team. The Smriti Mandhana-led side had a poor start to the season, losing all their first five matches, and Kohli decided to meet the team to inspire and motivate them to perform well in the remaining three matches.

During his motivational speech, Kohli shared his struggles with failures and revealed that he has not yet won the IPL trophy, but he remains excited and hungry to bring it to Bangalore. He emphasized the importance of focusing on the opportunity at hand rather than dwelling on the present situation. Kohli reminded everyone that there is no guarantee of winning the cup every year, but one can strive to give their best effort.

Kohli also stressed the importance of keeping a smile on one’s face but maintaining an inner fire to win. He mentioned that the real test is when things are not going well, and the team should always strive to give their best effort and not give free wins to the opposition.

“I have been playing IPL for 15 years and I haven’t won it yet. But that doesn’t stop me from being excited every year. That’s all I can do, that’s the effort I can put in every game and every tournament that I play. If we win, great but if we don’t, I’m not going to go to my grave thinking of, only if I had won the IPL. It doesn’t happen like that.”

“Always think about the opportunity you have rather than how bad it is right now. There’s always a flip side to it and it can always be worse than this. And the fact we haven’t won the IPL yet, I still feel we have the best fans in the world. Only because we were always committed in every game we play for RCB. There’s no guarantee of giving a cup every year but there’s a guarantee of giving your 110% and that’s all you can strive to do,” Virat Kohli said in a video shared by RCB on YouTube.

“Keep that excitement alive when things are not going in your way – is the real test. This is the real test. If you had won five in a row, I wouldn’t have picked up the call to come here, to be honest. I am here to tell you that this is what is going to help you learn, not winning five in a row. So, keep your heads high and a smile on your face but inside there should be a fire growing. You are not here to give free wins to the opposition,” Kohli added.

In their latest match, the Royal Challengers Bangalore registered their first win of the season against the UP Warriorz. With this win, the franchise is still in the race to qualify for the next round.
