Daryl Mitchell Cricket Life
Mitchell made his first-class cricket debut in the 2011-12 season and quickly became known for his batting skills. He averaged an impressive 54.53 in the following season and started to make a name for himself as a middle-order batsman. In addition to his batting, Mitchell’s seam bowling also proved to be a useful asset. He was included in the New Zealand A squad for tours of India and Sri Lanka and responded by scoring consecutive centuries in the following domestic season.

Daryl Mitchell made his international debut in a T20I match against India in February 2019. He was later called up to the Test squad in late 2019 as a replacement for Colin de Grandhomme. Mitchell played his first Test match against England in November 2019 and impressed by scoring 73 in his debut innings. He also bowled with good control at his home ground in Hamilton. Mitchell’s performance earned him a spot in New Zealand’s squad for the 2021 T20 World Cup, where he played a crucial role in New Zealand’s run to the final by scoring an unbeaten 72 against England in the semifinals.
