Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja proved his mettle once again in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Wednesday. Jadeja, known as one of the finest fielders in the world, took the wicket of Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis with a spectacular delivery.
Jadeja got the wicket of Stoinis in his very first over, which was a big blow to the batting lineup of LSG who were already struggling at 34-3. In the end, LSG scored 125-7 in 19.2 overs before rain interrupted the match and it was eventually called off.
Despite the rain, Jadeja’s bowling performance was noteworthy as he bowled three overs and conceded just 11 runs at an economy rate of 3.67 while taking one wicket. Both CSK and LSG have the same number of points, 11, in the IPL points table, but LSG sits at number two due to their slightly better net run rate. Meanwhile, CSK are in third place after 10 matches.
Jadeja has a wealth of experience serving the Indian cricket team, having played a total of 302 matches, including 64 Tests and T20Is each, and 174 ODI matches. In Test cricket, he has scored 2,658 runs at an average of 35.91, in 118 ODIs he has scored 2,526 runs at 32.80, and in 34 T20Is, he has scored 457 runs at an average of 24.
Jadeja’s bowling skills are equally impressive, with 264 wickets in Test cricket in 122 innings, 191 wickets in 168 ODI innings, and 51 wickets in 62 T20I innings.
The match lineups included MS Dhoni (c), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Ambati Rayudu, Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell Santner, Shivam Dube, Deepak Chahar, and R Hangargekar for CSK, while KL Rahul (c), Marcus Stoinis, Deepak Hooda, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Krunal Pandya, Ayush Badoni, Kyle Mayers, Yash Thakur, Ravi Bishnoi, Mark Wood, and Avesh Khan played for LSG.
