Pakistan cricket legends Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Malik are set to make their presence felt in the highly anticipated third edition of the Global T20 (GT20) Canada. Following a three-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the GT20 Canada is returning to enthrall cricket enthusiasts worldwide. The upcoming season of the league is scheduled to take place from July 10 to August 6.
The inclusion of Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Malik adds immense excitement to the tournament as fans eagerly anticipate their dazzling performances on the field. Both players are renowned for their exceptional cricketing skills and have represented Pakistan at the highest level for several years.
In the previous editions of the GT20 Canada in 2018 and 2019, the league witnessed the participation of some of the biggest names in international cricket. Players like Chris Gayle, Yuvraj Singh, Lasith Malinga, Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Afridi, Malik, David Warner, Steve Smith, Brendon McCullum, and Thisara Perera graced the tournament. This year’s GT20 Canada will feature the same six teams as previous editions. Each team will consist of a total of 16 players, including both international and associate nations’ cricketers. The squads will comprise two world-renowned marquee players, three players from the Canadian national team, and three emerging Canadian cricketers. The tournament will witness a total of 25 matches played over a span of 18 days, ensuring an action-packed and thrilling competition.
