The first day of the Women’s T20 East Asia Cup 2023 concluded with Hong Kong Women finding two wins from two matches they played.
The first match was between China Women and Hong Kong Women. Hong Kong Women won the toss and elected to field first in the match.
Batting first, China Women made a total of 101 runs for the loss of six wickets in the match. Huang Zhuo made the most 28 runs in 31 deliveries for the team in the match. Maryam Bibi took three wickets for Hong Kong Women in the match with Betty Chan and Kary Chan taking a wicket each.

The second match was between Japan Women and Hong Kong Women. Japan Women won the toss and elected to bat first in the match.
Batting first, Japan Women made 76 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Erika Oda made the most 25 runs in 32 deliveries for the team in the match. Cindy Ho took three wickets for Hong Kong Women in the match with Betty Chan taking two wickets. Alison Siu and Maryam Bibi took a wicket each to join the wicket-taking party.
Hong Kong Women made 77 runs for the loss of four wickets in 16.2 overs and completed the chase to win the match by six wickets. Kary Chan made the most 31* runs in 39 deliveries for the team in the match. Kurumi Ota and Elena Kusuda-Nairn took two wickets each for Japan Women in the match.
