Laura Wolvaardt Early Life
Laura Wolvaardt was born on 26 April 1999 in Milnerton, Western Cape, South Africa. She had a strong interest in studies and initially wanted to pursue a career in medicine. However, her path took a different turn as destiny led her towards cricket. Laura started playing cricket at a very young age and was selected for the Western Province U-19 girls’ team at the age of 13. In October 2013, she made her first appearance for the Western Province senior team in a Twenty20 match against Boland women.

In addition to representing the South Africa national cricket team, Laura Wolvaardt has played for various domestic teams. She has been a part of Western Province and Adelaide Strikers in domestic cricket. Previously, she played for Northern Superchargers and Brisbane Heat. Laura also participated in Women’s Big Bash League, playing for Brisbane Heat.
Laura Wolvaardt International Career
Laura Wolvaardt made her international debut for South Africa while still in high school. On 7 February 2016, at the age of 16, she made her Women One Day International (WODI) debut in the opening match of a three-match series against England Women.
Subsequently, on 1 August 2016, she made her Women’s T20 International (WT20I) debut for South Africa against Ireland’s national team. However, despite being part of the Test squad in June 2022 against England, she did not get a chance to play in the format.
