Johannesburg, South Africa: MI Cape Town roared to a dominant 98-run victory over the Joburg Super Kings in the first Wanderers match of SA20 Season 2. Kieron Pollard’s men secured the first bonus point of the campaign thanks to a record-breaking opening partnership and clinical bowling.
Batting Blitz:
- Rain delayed the start but didn’t dampen the spirits of Rassie van der Dussen and Ryan Rickelton, who unleashed a boundary-laden onslaught.
- Van der Dussen blasted a century off 46 balls, while Rickelton fell just two short of his own ton on 98.
- The pair smashed a record 200-run partnership, surpassing the previous League record of 157.
- Dewald Brevis and Liam Livingstone chipped in as MICT amassed a mammoth 243/5.
JSK Crumble:
- Joburg’s chase started disastrously with Reeza Hendricks run out in the second over.
