Will Jacks delivered a stunning all-round performance to power the Pretoria Capitals to their first victory of the SA20 season on Thursday evening.
Jacks’ Century Sets Up Capitals’ Total:
- The English international smashed a blistering 101 off just 42 balls, including eight fours and nine sixes, setting the stage for a massive Capitals total of 204/9.
- He then surprised everyone by opening the bowling with his off-spin, taking two key wickets for just 18 runs in three overs.
DSG Fall Short Despite Brisk Start:
- Durban’s Super Giants’ chase started well, with Matthew Breetzke and Quinton de Kock attempting to keep up the momentum.
- However, Jacks’ early wickets and consistent pressure from Capitals bowlers Hardus Viljoen and Wayne Parnell proved too much.
- Despite a late surge from Keshav Maharaj (25* off 14), DSG fell short by 17 runs, handing the Capitals their first win.
Will Jacks Continues Centurion Love Affair:
- Jacks proved why he’s quickly becoming a favourite in Centurion, with another magnificent performance on his “favourite ground to bat on.”
- He even offered up another Betway Catch a R2 million opportunity, cleanly taken by George van Heerden.
Catch of the Day (x2):
- The off-field excitement wasn’t over, with Blessmore Chigova also grabbing a Betway Catch a R2 million off a Matthew Breetzke six.
- Both Chigova and van Heerden will share the prize money with Jochen Grobler, who claimed the first catch last week.
