The Grizzly Bear European Cricket International (ECI) Spanish T20I Tri-Series, of this season, had its last day, today. Two matches were played today in the series. Germany tasted its first loss while Italy tasted its first win, today, in this series.
The first match today was between the host Spain and the only unbeaten team of the series, Germany. Winning the toss, Germany elected to bowl first in the match.
Coming to bat first, Spain made 137/7 in 20 overs. Hamza Saleem Dar remained the top scorer for Spain in the game with 36 runs off 31 balls. Prince Dhiman and Muhammad Ihsan added 29 runs and 22 runs respectively to the team, in the game.
Germany used seven bowlers against Spain in the game. Dieter Klein and Rasul Ahmadi took two wickets each for their team in the game. Dylan Blignaut and Sri Vishnu Barathi took a wicket each for their team in the game. Walter Behr, Muslim Ashraf and Justin Broad didn’t see a wicket for them in the game. The second match of today in the tournament was between the host Spain and Italy. Winning the toss, Italy elected to bat first against the host.
Batting first, Italy made a high score of 160 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 3 wickets. Marcus Campopiano played not-out 87 runs off 57 balls in the game. He smashed 6 fours and 4 sixes in his inning. Anik Ahmed, Grant Stewart, Dinuk Samarawickrama and Waleed Rana made 19*, 19, 13 and 11 runs respectively.
Yasir Ali, Raja Adeel and Lorne Burns took a wicket each for Spain in the game. Mohammad Kamran and Charlie Rumistrzewicz didn’t find wickets for themselves against Italy. Spain conceded 11 extras to Italy in the game.
Spain came to chase the target of 161 runs in the second inning. But, they were packed at 127 runs in 17 overs by Italy. Mohammad Kamran made 52(33) for the team. Daniel Doyle-Calle 24(21), Mohammad Yasin 13(9) and Hamza Saleem Dar14(14) were the other batters from Spain to score runs in double-digits in the game.
