Kathmandu Knights and Lalitpur All Stars find wins on the first day of the Nepal T20 League

Nepal T20 League started today with Kathmandu Knights and Pokhara Avengers playing the first match of the inaugural edition of the league. Kathmandu Knights found a 26 runs win over Pokhara Avengers in the opening match of the Nepal T20 League 2022.

Pokhara Avengers won the toss in the first match of the league and elected to field first in the game.

Kathmandu Knights made 162/5 in 19 overs and posted a target of 163 runs to Pokhara Avengers in the overs-revised match. Azmatullah Omarzai played a fabulous inning of 85 not-out runs in 42 balls to help the team post a strong target to the opponent.

Pratis GC and Zahir Khan took two wickets each in the game for Pokhara Avengers with Mousom Dhakal joining the party with a wicket. Pokhara Avengers conceded 12 extras to Kathmandu Knights in the game.

Opener Upul Tharanga from Pokhara Avengers played an impressive inning of 44 runs in 34 balls. But, the team couldn’t scale the score to 136 runs in 19 overs with the loss of 7 wickets.

Abinash Bohara, Basir Ahamad and Anil Kharel took 3, 2 and 1 wickets respectively in the game for Kathmandu Knights. Kathmandu Knights conceded 4 extras to Pokhara Avengers in the game.

Azmatullah Omarzai was declared the Player Of The Match for his 85*(42) in batting.

The second match of the day was between Lalitpur All Stars and Far West United where Lalitpur All Stars found a win of 67-runs large margin after Far West United got all out at 85 runs in 16.2 overs.

Lumbini All Stars had won the toss and elected to bat first in the second game of the day.

Batting first, Lumbini All Stars added a total of 152/7 in 20 overs with Lahiru Milantha playing an impressive knock of 60 runs in 50 balls. Dipendra Singh Airee also added 35 runs for the team in 38 balls.

Karan KC and Umair Ali took three wickets each in the game for Far West United. Far West United conceded 10 extras to Lalitpur All Stars in the game.

With Hashmatullah Shahidi’s 35(44), Far WestUnited could add only 85 runs on board before they lost all of their wickets in 16.2 overs.

Dipendra Singh Airee took three wickets for Lalitpur All Stars with Sagar Dhakal taking two. Pat Brown, Kishore Mahato and Bipul Sharma joined the party with a wicket each. Lalitpur All Stars conceded 12 extras to Far West United in the game.

Lahiru Milantha was declared the Player Of The Match for his 60(50) in batting.
