
The seventieth and the eighteenth matches of the inaugural edition of the Nepal T20 League were completed today with Kathmandu Knights and Lumbini All Stars adding two points each to the league’s points table.
The first match played today was between Kathmandu Knights and Janakpur Royals where Janakpur Royals won the toss and elected to field first.
Batting first, Kathmandu Knights made 180/6 in 20 overs with Sunam Gautam and Ryan Burl playing impressive knocks of 62*(47) and 61*(40).
Jitendra Mukhiya took three wickets for Janakpur Royals while Sharafuddin Ashraf and Trevon Griffith took a wicket each.
With an opener from Janakpur Royals, Trevon Griffith, being duck-out in the game, the team were summed up at 90 runs in 19.1 overs with Sharafuddin Ashraf’s 37(31) who is the top run contributor to the team in the game.
Abinash Bohara took 4 wickets bowling 3.1 overs in the game for Kathmandu Knights. Azmatullah Omarzai, Kamal Airee, Anil Kharel and Basir Ahamad took 2, 1, 1 and 1 wickets respectively for the team.
Kathmandu Knights won the game by 90 runs.
Sunam Gautam was the Player of the Match for his 62(47).
The second match of the day was between Lumbini All Stars and Biratnagar Super Kings where Lumbini All Stars won the toss and elected to bat first.
Batting first, Lumbini All Stars could make a total of 122 runs at the loss of 9 wickets from the first inning with Dipendra Singh Airee completing his half-century in the last ball of the inning. He made 50 not-out runs off 42 balls in the game.
Nandan Yadav, Surya Tamang and Bibek Yadav took two wickets each for Biratnagar Super Kings while Keon Joseph and Raj Nannan took a wicket each.
With the opener Arjun Saud making 41(45) for Biratnagar Super Kings, the team were summed up at 110 runs in 19.3 overs where Arjun Saud was the top run contributor for the team in the game.
Shadley van Schalkwyk, Tilak Bhandari and Harry Tector took two wickets each for Lumbini All Stars while Kishore Mahato, Harmeet Singh and Dipendra Singh Airee took a wicket each.
Lumbini All Stars won the game by 12 runs.
Dipendra Singh Airee was the Player of the Match for his 50*(42) in batting, 1/17 in bowling and 2 catches in the match.
