Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, has emerged as the most popular pick among fans ahead of The Hundred draft. According to a recent poll, Azam secured 25 percent of the votes, placing him at the top of the charts. His teammate Shaheen Shah Afridi came in second place with eight percent of the votes, while Mohammad Rizwan, the wicketkeeper-batter, was in fifth place with four percent of the votes.
The Hundred draft, which takes place on Thursday, offers teams the opportunity to finalize their squads. Each team will select a player in reverse order of where they finished in the previous year’s edition. The players in the draft have a reserve price, and no team can purchase them for less than that amount. However, if a team chooses to, they can exceed a player’s reserve price.
A total of 64 players will be drafted, including 30 men and 34 women. Last year, Trent Rockets won the men’s competition, defeating Manchester Originals in the championship match. In the women’s competition, the Oval Invincibles emerged victorious for the second year in a row by defeating Southern Brave in a rematch of the 2021 final.
