Trinbago Knight Riders opened their CPL 2026 campaign with a convincing 19-run victory over the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots via the DLS method in a rain-affected second match of the tournament at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, Saint Vincent.
After the Patriots were restricted to 109/9 in 20 overs, rain interrupted the contest and reduced Trinbago’s chase to 15 overs with a revised target of 76.
The Knight Riders responded with 94/2 in 15 overs, comfortably finishing above the DLS target.
Sunil Narine was the star of the match, producing a superb spell of 3/7 in four overs to help dismantle the Patriots’ batting order.

Patriots Struggle Against Trinbago’s Bowlers
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots were put under pressure almost immediately after losing three wickets during the powerplay.
They managed only 24 runs for three wickets after six overs, leaving the innings in serious trouble.
Andre Fletcher fell for six before Kyle Mayers and Alick Athanaze departed cheaply.
Johnson Charles attempted to rebuild the innings with 21, but the Patriots continued to lose wickets at regular intervals.
At 40/4 after 9.3 overs, the Patriots desperately needed a partnership.
That responsibility fell on Kevin Wickham, who produced the Patriots’ best innings of the night.
Wickham scored 38 from 44 balls, including two fours and a six, but struggled to find enough support from the other end.
Sunil Narine Produces a Stunning Spell
The defining performance of the Patriots’ innings came from Sunil Narine.
The veteran spinner delivered four economical overs, conceding only seven runs while taking three wickets.
His remarkable figures:

Narine’s economy rate of just 1.75 runs per over made it extremely difficult for the Patriots to build momentum.

Trinbago Knight Riders began their chase with Colin Munro and Alex Hales at the crease.
Munro scored 17 from 17 balls, while Hales made nine before both were dismissed.
Joshua Da Silva and Matthew Breetzke then steadied the innings.
