The fourth match of the Women’s T20 Quadrangular Series (in Namibia) was played today between UAE Women and Hong Kong Women where Hong Kong Women found a wicket victory over UAE Women after they chased the 140 runs target in 20 overs.
Hong Kong Women had won the toss and elected to field first in the match.
Batting first, UAE Women made 139 runs at the loss of 5 wickets. Chaya Mughal was the highest run-scoring batter for the team with 46-ball 52 runs followed by Kavisha Egodage and Theertha Satish with 30 runs each of 30 and 23 deliveries respectively.
Kary Chan took two wickets for Hong Kong Women in the match with Betty Chan and Maryam Bibi taking a wicket each. Hong Kong Women conceded seven extras to UAE Women while bowing in today’s match.
Hong Kong Women started their innings with Natasha Miles and Mariko Hill. Natasha was duck-out off 6 deliveries. Mariko Hill made 50-ball 76 runs while chasing the target. Maryam Bibi was the second most run-scoring batter for the team with 15 runs off 9 balls. Hong Kong Women made 140/9 in 20 overs.
Esha Oza took three wickets for UAE Women with Khushi Sharma taking two wickets for the team in the match. Indhuja Nandakumar, Chaya Mughal and Archara Supriya took a wicket each to join the wicket-taking party from the team.
Hong Kong Women won the match by 1 wicket. Hong Kong Women are currently in the third position of the points table with a single win. Namibia Women are leading the series points table with UAE Women at the second position and Uganda Women at the fourth position.
