IPL 2023: MI chased down 215 runs target from PBKS

The 46th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) concluded with Mumbai Indians winning over the Punjab Kings as the Mumbai Indians chased down the 215 runs target from the Punjab Kings in 18.5 overs for the loss of four wickets to win the match by six wickets.

Mumbai Indians had won the toss and elected to field first in the match.

Batting first, Punjab Kings (PBKS) made 214 runs for the loss of three wickets. Liam Livingstone who played a not-out innings was the top run scorer for the team who made 82 runs in 42 balls. Jitesh Sharma was another not-out-playing batter from the team in the match who was the batter to score the second most runs in the match for the team with 49 runs in 27 deliveries.

Piyush Chawla took two wickets for Mumbai Indians in the match with Arshad Khan taking a wicket. Mumbai Indians conceded seventeen extras to PBKS in the match while bowling.

Mumbai Indians started the chase with Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. While Rohit Sharma was duck-out in 3 deliveries, Ishan Kishan made 75 runs in 41 deliveries. With Ishan being the top run-scorer for the team in the match, Suryakumar Yadav was the second most run-scorer for the team in the match with 66 runs in 31 deliveries. With Tim David’s 10-ball 19 runs and Tilak Varma’s 10-ball 26 runs at the end, Mumbai Indians successfully chased the target in 18.5 overs. Mumbai Indians finished on 216/4 in 18.5 overs to win the match by six wickets.

Nathan Ellis was the top wicket-taking bowler for PBKS in the match with 2 wickets in his name. Rishi Dhawan and Arshdeep Singh took a wicket each for the team while bowling in the match. PBKS conceded seven extras to MI while bowling.

MI won the match by six wickets.
