Gibraltar Tri-Nation T20I Series: Portugal dominates the series in power

The first day of the Gibraltar Tri-Nation T20I Series concluded with Portugal finding two wins from two matches. Portugal faced Malta in the first match of the series and the second match of the series was between Portugal and Gibraltar. Portugal had found wins in both matches to dominate the series.

In the first math of the series, between Portugal and Malta, Malta had won the toss and elected to field first.

Batting first, Portugal made 160 runs for the loss of six wickets. Najjam Shahzad was the top run-scorer for the team in the match with 44 runs in 29 deliveries. Kuldeep Gholiya followed Najjam Shahzad with 27 runs in 21 deliveries.

Fazil Rahman took two wickets for Malta in the match with Ashok Bishnoi, FGanyan Mughal and Amar Sharma taking a wicket each for the team in the match.

Malta was bowled out for 76 runs in 13.3 overs by Portugal in the second inning of the match. Fanyan Mughal was the top run-scorer for the team in the match with 20 runs in 20 deliveries followed by the only other batter from the team to score in double-digits in the match, Amar Sharma, with 10 runs in 11 deliveries.

Sirajullah Khadim took a five-fer for Portugal in the match in 3.3 overs. Junaid Khan with three wickets and Amir Zaib with two wickets joined Sirajullah Khadim in the wicket-taking party to bowl out Malta in the match for 76 runs.

Portugal won the match by 84 runs. Sirajullah Khadim was the Player of the Match for his 3.3-1-17-5 spell in the match.

In the second match of the series, between Gibraltar and Portugal, Gibraltar won the toss and elected to bat first.

Batting first, Gibraltar made 171 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Kayron J Stagno with 86 runs in 38 deliveries was the top run-scoring batter for the team in the match followed by Andrew Reyes with 22 runs in 27 deliveries.

Najjam Shahzad took three wickets for Portugal in the match with Junaid Khan taking two wickets. Francoise Stoman, Sirajullah Khadim and Amir Zaib took a wicket each to join the wicket-taking party.

Portugal made 174 runs in 18.2 overs to win the match. They lost three wickets in the chase. Miguel Machado with 54* runs in 45 deliveries was the top run-scoring batter for the team in the match followed by Amir Zaib with 35* runs in 18 deliveries.

Samarth Bodha was the only bowler from Gibraltar to take a wicket in the match for the team. He had a spell of 4-0-35-1 in the match.

Portugal won the match by seven wickets. Kayron J Stagno who made 86 runs in 38 deliveries was the Player of the Match.

Portugal seems in super power in the series.
