France Women won the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Europe Division 2 Qualifier 2023 which happened in Japan. The tournament began on 29 May 2023 and concluded on 2 June 2023. Winning four out of five matches played, France Women had eight points in the points table which was levelled by Italy Women, too. France Women won the tournament considering the Net Run Rate (NRR). France Women had a NRR of 1.736 while Italy Women had 0.833.
France Women had started the tournament with a 6-wicket loss to Italy Women. After the match, France Women won all of their remaining matches of the tournament and stand with a solid NRR to become the winner of the tournament.
On the last day of the tournament, Italy Women took place over Turkey Women, Jersey Women played with Sweden Women and France Women faced Germany Women.
In the match between Italy Women and Turkey Women, Italy Women won the match by 88 runs after defending the target of 164 runs. The match between Jersey Women and Sweden Women showed a 21-run all-out of Sweden while chasing the 130-run target in the match. Jersey Women won the match by 108 runs after summing Sweden Women to 21 runs. And, in the last match of the tournament, France’s Women took a 13-run win over Germany’s Women to win the tournament with a solid standing.
France Women and Italy Women being the top two teams of the tournament progressed to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Europe Division 1 Qualifier 2023 to be held in September 2023 in Spain.
