Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Amir recently shared his thoughts on Haris Rauf’s recent statement comparing himself to Wahab Riaz. During a media conference, Amir expressed his respect for Rauf’s opinion while emphasizing the significance of personal favorites in shaping individuals’ perspectives.
Amir drew a parallel between Rauf’s statement and his own admiration for the legendary left-arm bowler Wasim Akram. He highlighted that personal preferences play a crucial role in these opinions, stating. He further added that if Wahab Riaz is Haris Rauf’s personal favorite, he sees nothing wrong with it.
“I take this thing positively because everyone has their own personal favorite, just like my favorite bowler is Wasim Akram. No matter how many great left-arm bowlers come, Wasim Akram will always be my favorite. That doesn’t mean I dislike other bowlers. Wahab might be Haris’s personal favorite, and I think if his opinion matters, then there’s nothing wrong with it,” Amir said.
Amir’s response reflects his maturity and sportsmanship, showcasing his ability to appreciate different talents and opinions within the game. He acknowledged Rauf’s right to have a personal favorite and expressed his acceptance of Rauf’s viewpoint.
In a previous local TV talk show, Rauf was asked to compare Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Amir. In response, Rauf confidently stated, “Wahab Riaz is better than Mohammad Amir.” Rauf’s statement sparked a conversation in the cricketing community, leading to Amir’s thoughtful response during the media conference.
