Tim Paine, former Australian captain and wicketkeeper, has joined the Adelaide Strikers as an Assistant Coach ahead of KFC BBL|13.
Paine has over 400 professional games to his name, and has recently retired from First-Class cricket. He is also an Assistant Coach for Australia A.
Strikers General Manager, Cricket Tim Nielsen is thrilled to have Paine on board.
“Tim is a great addition to our team and will help us in so many ways this season,” Nielsen said.
“A gifted keeper and Test level batter, Tim will be invaluable working with our players both in the field and with the bat. His ability to provide effective, direct feedback is top class and we really look forward to him getting up to Adelaide.”
Paine is a proud Tasmanian, and has played 44 BBL matches for the Hurricanes, scoring over 1100 runs. He has also represented Australia 82 times, including 28 as captain.
Strikers Head Coach Jason Gillespie is delighted to have Paine on his coaching staff.
“Tim has all the skills to be a fantastic coach and it is so great for us that he has decided to join the Strikers as we hunt success this summer,” Gillespie said.
“The experience he will bring is sure to help our players in all facets of the game and bring more positive elements to the way we play.”
