The Texas Chargers defeated the New York Warriors in the final of the inaugural US Masters T10. The match went to a Super Over, which the Chargers won by 2 runs.
The Warriors won the toss and elected to bat first. They got off to a slow start, losing Kamran Akmal in the first over. However, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Richard Levi put on a 30-run partnership to steady the ship. Levi was dismissed for 17, but Dilshan continued to score freely and reached 18 before he was also dismissed.
The Warriors lost wickets at regular intervals after that and were eventually bowled out for 92. Ehsan Adil was the pick of the bowlers for the Chargers, taking 3 wickets.
In reply, the Chargers lost Mukhtar Ahmed early, but Mohammad Hafeez and Ben Dunk put on a 46-run partnership to get the chase off to a good start. Dunk was dismissed for 20, but Hafeez continued to score freely and reached 46 before he was also dismissed.
The Chargers lost a few more wickets in the middle overs, but they kept up with the required rate thanks to Darren Stevens and Upul Tharanga. However, Sohail Tanvir struck in the 9th over to dismiss Stevens, Tharanga, and Thisara Perera in quick succession.
The Chargers needed 14 runs off the final over, and they were unable to get them, and the match went to a Super Over.
The Chargers batted first in the Super Over and scored 15 runs. The Warriors then needed 16 runs to win, but they were only able to score 13 runs, and the Chargers were crowned champions.
Mohammad Hafeez was named the player of the tournament for his allround performance. Sohail Khan was awarded as player of the Final.
