Trinbago Knight Riders cruised to a 133-run victory over Barbados Royals in the CPL 2023, thanks to a dominant display with both bat and ball.
Barbados Royals won the toss and chose to field first, but they were unable to contain the Knight Riders’ batting lineup. Martin Guptill and Kieron Pollard put on a 108-run partnership for the second wicket, and Guptill went on to score 100 off 58 balls. The Knight Riders finished on 194-5.
The Royals’ batting collapsed in the powerplay, as they lost four wickets for just 20 runs. They were bowled out for 61 in 12.1 overs, giving the Knight Riders the largest margin of victory in CPL history.
Waqar Salamkheil was the pick of the bowlers for the Knight Riders while Andre Russell took 3-13 and Akeal Hosein also chipped in with 2-16.
The win keeps the Knight Riders at three of the CPL standings, while the Royals remain in fifth place.
