The Barbados Royals defeated the Trinbago Knight Riders by 6 wickets in the 2023 Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL).
The Knight Riders won the toss and elected to bat first. They got off to a steady start, reaching 32-1 after the PowerPlay. However, they lost wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for 73.
The Royals chased down the total in just 11 overs, with Hayley Matthews and Gaby Lewis scoring 19 and 27 respectively in the PowerPlay.
The Knight Riders’ batters struggled to contain the Royals’ bowlers, with spin bowlers Erin Burns and Amanda-Jade Wellington taking 3 wickets each.
The win means the Royals remain unbeaten after two matches in the WCPL.
