The Guyana Amazon Warriors produced a record-breaking performance to beat the Barbados Royals by 88 runs in the 2023 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) at Providence.

The Amazon Warriors posted their highest-ever total of 226/7, thanks to a brilliant century from Shai Hope. Hope scored 106 from just 44 balls, which is the second-fastest century in CPL history.

He was supported by Kevlon Anderson, who made 47 on his T20 debut, and Shimron Hetmyer, who hit a late cameo of 16.

The Royals were never in the chase, and they scored only 138/6 in 20 overs. Gudakesh Motie and Imran Tahir were the stars of the show with the ball, taking two and three wickets respectively.

The win was a huge one for the Amazon Warriors, as it puts them in a strong position to win the CPL title. They will face the Trinbago Knight Riders in Qualifier 1 on Wednesday, with a place in the final at stake.

The Royals, on the other hand, are out of the tournament. They will be disappointed with their performance this season, as they were one of the favorites to win the title.
