In the recent developments of Australian cricket, Cricket Australia (CA) is reportedly contemplating over a notable upgrade to Mitchell Marsh’s contract following his stellar performance in 2022 and a crucial role in Australia’s triumphant World Cup campaign in 2023. The all-rounder emerged as the team’s second-leading run-scorer in the tournament, amassing an impressive 441 runs from 10 games.
One of the standout moments of Marsh’s career came in the World Cup, where he played a monumental innings of 177* against Bangladesh, a performance that is now etched as his highest score across all formats.
In the calendar year 2023, Marsh showcased exceptional form across all formats, accumulating a staggering 1584 runs from 33 innings. His remarkable contributions were not limited to white-ball cricket, as he played a pivotal role in the Test series against Pakistan, delivering match-winning performances in both matches. In the first Test, Marsh scored 90 and an unbeaten 63*, while in the second Test, he contributed with 41 and a compelling 96.
