In a stellar recognition of his outstanding all-around performances, Pat Cummins has been awarded the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year for 2023. With Cummins receiving the award, the list of ICC Awards Winners for the year 2023 completes.
The prolific bowler who excelled with both bat and ball, played a pivotal role in leading Australia to significant victories throughout the year. His achievements include captaining Australia to victory in the ICC World Test Championship, retaining the Ashes, and securing a record sixth ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2023.
Usman Khawaja, the prolific Australian batsman, was named Test Cricketer of the Year for his exceptional contributions to Australia’s success in the ICC World Test Championship. Khawaja’s stellar performance saw him amass 1,210 runs in Test cricket in 2023, making him the only player to surpass the four-figure mark.
On the women’s front, Nat Sciver-Brunt secured the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year for the second consecutive year, a testament to her consistent excellence. Chamari Athapaththu was named ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year for her standout performances in 2023. Whereas, Hayley Matthews received Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year Award for 2023.
The list of ICC Awards also includes Virat Kohli as Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year, Suryakumar Yadav as Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year. Emerging talents Rachin Ravindra and Phoebe Litchfield were awarded Men’s and Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year, respectively.
Bas de Leede and Queentor Abel were recognized as ICC Men’s and Women’s Associate Cricketers of the Year for 2023. The ICC Spirit of the Year 2023 award was given to Zimbabwe, recognizing their sportsmanship and commitment to the spirit of the game.
Richard Illingworth, the accomplished umpire, was named ICC Umpire of the Year for his role in ensuring the fair and smooth conduct of international cricket.
