As the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2024) continues, it has witnessed some groundbreaking batting and bowling performances. Most of all, batters across six teams have been in action with glittering performances.

With 20 matches already played, only three batsmen have managed to score centuries – proof of the high-quality bowling attacks in the tournament. Let’s look into the stories of these prolific run-scorers:

PSL 2024 centurions – Which 3 batters have scored centuries?

1. Rassie van der Dussen: The Unlucky Centurion (Lahore Qalandars)

Lahore Qalandars’ South African import, Rassie van der Dussen, stands out as the first batsman to score a century in the season. His magnificent knock of 104 runs not out came against the Peshawar Zalmi, showcasing his exceptional batting prowess.

However, heartbreak followed, as Lahore Qalandars fell short of the target despite his valiant effort. Despite the loss, van der Dussen continues to be a vital cog in the Qalandars’ batting lineup, boasting a total of 300 runs from his six matches.

2. Babar Azam: The Captain Leads From The Front (Peshawar Zalmi)

The current king of Pakistani batting, Babar Azam, has lived up to his reputation in PSL 2024. Leading the run-scoring charts for Peshawar Zalmi with 300 runs from just five matches, Babar’s leadership and on-field dominance have been crucial for his team. His unbeaten 111-run knock against Islamabad United not only secured a significant win for Zalmi but also highlighted his ability to handle pressure situations.

3. Usman Khan: The Emerging Sultan (Multan Sultans)

Usman Khan, a rising Pakistani talent playing for Multan Sultans, has announced his arrival on the big stage with a magnificent 106* against the Karachi Kings. This knock propelled Multan Sultans to a comfortable victory and showcased Usman’s potential for big scores.

However, his hunger for runs was evident earlier in the tournament when he fell just short of a century, scoring 96 runs against Lahore Qalandars. With 216 runs from just three innings, Usman has propelled himself into contention for the top scorer’s title and is definitely a player to watch out for in the remaining matches.

These three batsmen exemplify the quality batting witnessed in PSL 2024. While they stand out for their centuries, the tournament has seen consistent performances from other talented individuals as well. As the competition progresses, we can expect more cricketing brilliance to unfold, keeping fans at the edge of their seats.
