Delhi Capitals’ skipper Rishabh Pant marked a significant milestone in his cricketing career as he played his 100th IPL match in the ninth match of IPL 2024 against the Rajasthan Royals. Notably, Pant has returned to cricketing action after a harrowing car accident in December 2022, which nearly claimed his life and caused him to miss the entire 2023 IPL season.
However, his resilience and determination saw him back on the field for IPL 2024. In a special recognition of his achievement, Pant received a commemorative jersey for his 100th IPL match. With an impressive career tally of 2856 runs in the IPL, Pant’s journey to this milestone has been nothing short of remarkable. Although he scored a modest 18 runs in Delhi’s IPL 2024 opener against the Punjab Kings, Pant’s return to the field was celebrated by fans and teammates alike.

Pant’s milestone is not the only one to be celebrated this IPL season. Several other players are on the cusp of reaching the 100 IPL matches mark, including Jos Buttler with just two more matches to go, Quinton de Kock needing three more matches, Jaydev Unadkat five matches away, and Harshal Patel six matches away.
Additionally, Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill, having played 93 games each, are poised to complete their 100 IPL matches this season, provided they receive ample opportunities on the field. It remains to be seen how the wicket-keeping Delhi batter will do while chasing a modest target of 186 runs against the Royals.
