Suryakumar Yadav returns to the Mumbai Indians squad ahead of their clash against the Delhi Capitals which brings a ray of hope amidst their dismal start to IPL 2024. Having missed the first three games due to a sports hernia operation, which he underwent successfully, Yadav has now received clearance from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Prior to this, he was battling an ankle injury, making his return all the more significant for the struggling team.

MI’s social media celebrated Yadav’s return with a nostalgic tweet, “Jiska Hamein tha Intezar,” signaling the anticipation surrounding his comeback. The team’s performance under new captain Hardik Pandya has been disappointing, having lost all four matches so far.

Reports of a rift within the MI camp, with players divided and many leaning towards former captain Rohit Sharma, add to their woes. Pandya’s reception by fans has been mixed, with some even booing him during matches.

Amidst speculation that Sharma might depart from MI after the season, it’s also rumored to be Yadav’s final season with the team. However, his presence is expected to significantly bolster MI’s batting lineup and address some of their woes in that department. With the MI vs DC clash scheduled for April 7th at the Wankhede Stadium, all eyes will be on Yadav as he looks to make an impact in his comeback game and turn the tide for his team.
