The ninth edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is set to begin on October 3rd and will conclude with the final on October 20th.
Due to the political situation, it is not happening at Bangladesh which was the previously decided location. UAE is now set to host the T20 World Cup. The venues in the world cup will be Dubai International Cricket Stadium and the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
In the 2024 T20 World Cup, a total of 10 teams will compete, and they are divided into two groups. Group A consists of India, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan. Group B includes England, South Africa, Bangladesh, West Indies, and Scotland. While other eight teams got qualified as per the ICC rankings in T20, Sri Lanka and Scotland played qualifiers to advance to the T20 World Cup.
New Zealand have already announced their squad. On October 10th, the squad was publicized with Sophie Devine as the captain. Sophie Devine have also already announced that this will be her last T20 World Cup as a captain.

Major issue in the squad
While the squad looks good but the squad consist of only one wicketkeeper, Izzy Gaze. This can be a trouble for New Zealand if Izzy gets injured. There will be a big question on who will do wicketkeeping if Izzy can not do the keeping.
Looking into the squad
Maddy Green and Georgia Plimmer are the key batters. The squad includes four spinners: Amelia Kerr, Eden Carson, Fran Jonas, and Leigh Kasperek. New Zealand has selected eight pacers in the team including Sophie Devine, Suzie Bates, Brooke Halliday, and Jess Kerr, Molly Penfold, Hannah Rowe, Lea Tahuhu and Rosemary Mair.
Leigh Kasperek, Izzy Gaze and Rosemary Mair will comeback in the squad.
In the 2023 World Cup, New Zealand’s journey ended in the group stage, but this time, they hope they can win the final.
