Unmukt Chand in IPL talks is gaining traction as the 2012 U-19 World Cup-winning skipper has filed his name for the IPL 2025 mega auction. Chand had saved India’s title win, belting a heroic 111 against Australia in the U-19 final. As an outstanding performer at the junior level, Chand never got to get into India’s senior team, which encouraged him to seek his fortunes elsewhere.

The 32-year-old moved to the United States, complaining of fewer opportunities in Indian cricket. An associate player, Unmukt Chand will participate as an overseas uncapped wicket-keeper batter in the IPL 2025 auction. Chand had earlier played for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), Rajasthan Royals, and Mumbai Indians and had last played for MI in 2016. In IPL, he has managed 300 runs at a low average of 15 with a strike rate of 100.

USA pacer Ali Khan and Scotland’s all-rounder Brandon McMullen will also feature alongside Chand in the IPL 2025 mega auction set to take place from November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. All three have a base price of ₹30 lakh. IPL 2025 will give an interesting story to represent un mugt chand as the fans look forward to watching how teams manage his entry.

He has enough material to back his domestic record. In 67 first-class matches, he has scored 3,379 runs with eight centuries. In T20 cricket, Chand has played 90 games and gained 1,795 runs with a highest of 125. Though he hasn’t enjoyed much success in the IPL earlier, his experience with Silicon Valley Strikers and Los Angeles Knight Riders in the U.S. leagues underlines his adaptability.

For example, if a team like Punjab Kings chooses Chand, they might lean on his international experience and his leadership skills to fortify their middle order. Unmukt Chand, with all his past credentials, could be one of the most interesting stories at the IPL 2025 auction, giving the former prodigy another chance to shine on an international stage.
