The Big Bash League (BBL) 2025-26 draft brought a major boost for fans of Pakistani cricket, as seven players from the country secured spots across top Australian franchises. With a gap in Pakistan’s international calendar during the BBL window, this year has proven ideal for high-profile names to explore overseas leagues. The increasing inclusion of Pakistani players in BBL 15 reflects both global recognition of their T20 talent and their marketability in elite competitions.
Platinum category picks led the charge, with Shaheen Shah Afridi joining Brisbane Heat as their Round 1 pick. Haris Rauf was retained by Melbourne Stars, continuing his successful stint with the side. Another major headline came from Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan’s ODI skipper, who was snapped up by Melbourne Renegades, marking his debut in the BBL.
