India are off to a winning start against New Zealand in a three-match T20 International Series, after a miserable T20 World Cup 2021 campaign.
After winning the toss and bowling first, they restrict New Zealand at a par score of 164 in their 20 overs. Guptill and Chapman scored 70 and 63 respectively. Bhuvneshwar and Ashwin picked up two wickets each.
In reply, Indian top-order Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav gave a good start to the team and they were cruising at some stage of the run-chase. Later on, their run-chase was jolted by the Kiwi pacers, eventually, they came out as winners, when Pant hit over the mid-off for a boundary on the fourth ball of the final over.
