Fixtures unveiled by CAN for the inaugural Nepal T20 League

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) unveiled the fixtures of the inaugural Nepal T20 League on Friday 18 November 2022. The inaugural league will start on 12 December 2022 and run until 31 December 2022.

Nepal T20 League consists of six teams eyeing the league trophy. The teams featured in the inaugural league are Biratnagar Super Kings, Far-Western United, Janakpur Royals, Kathmandu Gurkhas, Lumbini All-Stars and Pokhara Avengers.

The inaugural league will be played in a round-robin format. The top two teams from the first round will play Qualifier 1, the next two top teams will play Eliminator. The loser of Qualifier 1 and the winner of Eliminator will play Qualifier 2. The winners of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 will fight in the final match of the league for the trophy. All the matches of the inaugural league will be played at the TU International Cricket Stadium, Kirtipur, Kathmandu.

The inaugural Nepal T20 League will feature 67 domestic and 32 foreign players in the league. All the players were signed from the two-day draft that was held on 10 September 2022 and 11 September 2022 in the capital city of Nepal.

The inaugural league, Nepal T20 League, was previously scheduled to take place from 20 September 2022 to 22 October 2022. It was postponed later on by the CAN to start on 12 December 2022, after the Ministry of Home Affairs issued an order to postpone the league owing to the upcoming national-level election in the country.
